I was playing Diablo 3 and my CPU temps were reaching the 90C and the fan was at max speed. Is there anything I can do to lower the temp?

how old is the lappy and when was the last time you cleaned the fans out?
dust build up is one of the main reasons for rising temps but also it could be the thermal paste used on the gpu. did you upgrade to ic diamond or just the standard paste.

Bought it in September and never thinked of cleaning the fans. I did not upgrade to IC but the problem was the CPU. Thanks for the suggestion.

its advised to clean the fans and vents out every 2-3 months.
remove mains and battery and then remove base plate and use a can of compressed air to blow around the vents and fans.

also what do you use to monitor your temperatures. if your getting 90c for cpu its advisable to check gpu temps as well.

lots of free monitoring software in my signature below.

The GPU was also quite hot but not as much as the CPU.

Do I need to remove all the screws that are not related to the portion on the top that comes off (the one with the fan)?

i know, tell me about it. thats why i recommend they are cleaned out regularly.
mine is 4 years old now and still going strong and compared to these new cards my 260gtx is no where near as hot as the new ones get.
