Anyone else who owns this get stuck with a nvidia driver from 12/2010?
Thats the only one i can find that seems to work with the laptop at the moment and i feel it is hurting the performance to say the least
I had seen on the owners lounge that some user was getting 40+ FPS in Starcraft 2 on ultra at 1080p with their model and i doubt mine would do that well
Crysis 2, 1360x768 / med settings is roughly 30fps if im lucky (i choose to use nvidia card for the .exe file in the nvidia control panel)
Rift 1600x900 at MED settings is about 22FPS in many areas
My setup is a 2630 quad core / 8gb ddr3 and of course... the GT555M
I checked sager and there are no video drivers from them yet, i called them and they told me i have to wait
I tried to use the latest nvidia driver but i get an install error
Just trying to see if i am missing something obviousAfter all, getting 40+ fps on starcraft with a maxed out resolution and ultra settings is something to appreciate with a machine like this.

Thank you so much for the quick reply!
I get the error "NVIDIA install cannot continue, this graphics driver could not find compatible graphics hardware" when attempting to install the official NVIDIA driver
i noticed there was a small notation at the bottom of the latest driver too
"1.Notebooks supporting Hybrid Power technology with Intel chipsets are not supported by this release."
Im not sure if this is related
Whats the latest driver that works with the NP5165? -
oh i also tried this
NVIDIA DRIVERS 270.61 WHQL (coincidentally this is the same version of the driver that im trying to download)
still got the same error -
Can you go into device manager, expand display adapters, double click your GT 555M and go to the details tab, change the drop down to hardware id's and tell me what the whole first line says? I can whip you up an inf for the latest driver with that info.

That would be wonderful! Thank you so much for the help
I am currently at work (3rd shift) and will be home in around 1.5 hours
I will get that hardware ID for you asap
I tried to do that but i guess i messed up somewhere haha.
Thank you again! -

Had another thought. While the driver version is old, you should be able to get the proper device ID from Clevo itself. Go here and download the NVIDIA driver for the W150HRQ. That way you shouldn't have to guess.

Done, INF for 270.61: HERE
Added support for Clevo vendor branded GT 555M and GT 520M.
It's attached to my INF thread, see that for install instructions, maybe we'll have need for that thread again after all.
And with that I'm catching some Z's since it's going on 6 AM, enjoy the INF. -
wow before i can even give you the ID you already have it all set for me
Let me thank you both yet again for such great help! Yes, its sad they dont even have drivers for this model listed on their website yet but they did mention it had only recently even become available.
Either way, im going to put that file in the correct folder now and try it out then give you an update!
You have both been great and extremely helpful.
**EDIT** It worked! sweet success! i have to imagine anyone else who had this problem (or will) may be saved by your work here. -

Just a quick update for anyone curious, there has not been any increased performance for Crysis 2 or Rift.
A little bit depressing but hopefully some future drivers will bump things up a notch? -
Theres a chance that might impact performance a bit.
