    NP5165 VS NP8130 Battery Life

    Need help deciding between these two laptops for college. How does the battery life compare on these two laptops? Is it true these two laptops have similar battery life when web browsing and on low brightness? From what I have heard the NP5165 lasts around 3.5 hours and the NP8130 lasts around 3.3 hours.

    That sounds about right. Most users were reporting that the battery life is not significantly better on the 5160 compared to the 8130, so the 5165 wouldn't be making that gap any wider. (The 8130 should get you between 2.5-3.5 hours depending on usage and how aggressive you make the power saving settings)

    The NP5165 doesn't have better battery life with Optimus? Or is the problem that the battery is smaller?

    The 5165 has a 6 cell battery while the 8130 has an 8 cell. It helps the 8130 catch up in terms of battery life (it still comes in about an hour to two hours shorter though)
