    - Work covering first $900, I cover rest of cost.
    - Light work apps, most intensive will be running a XP virtual machine
    - Most intensive game will be Mass Effect 1/2/3
    - I might play back ripped/recorded 1080i/p content to LG Blu Ray player (DLNA)

    1. For VM, would the i5-2410M suffice?
    2. For games such as Mass Effect 1/2 (especially 3), will a GT55M be able to handle it at 1080p?

    Other than the video card (GT55M vs GTX560M), spec'd identically(glossy, i7-2360, 4gb, 320gb, intel 6230), the price difference is $380.

I think it's worth it, but I will jump on a new laptop once Sager comes out with a model that has a backlit keyboard and mid/high-end video card w/ Optimus support.

No idea about ME3, since it hasn't released any kind of specs. To be safe, I would go for the 8150 with the 460M or the 6970M inside.

i second that, although a 8150 might be a bit too much for what you use it for, but if you crave snappiness then look no further :) ( i7 will show a difference over i5 specially if you plan on using virtual environment )

I think RAM would help more for running VM's
