Possibly the Clevo M570RU, the updated version of the NP5760 coming out soon. Link

The Asus G2's cannot stand up in the high-end gaming notebook market.

They are mainly mid-range with some style.

The 17" Clevo's usually dominate in the high-end notebook gaming market.

Look towards these for better value:
    - Clevo M570U (a.k.a. Sager 5760, Xtreme CTX, etc..)
    - Clevo M570RU (not officially announced, should come out by summer's end)

You're in the same boat as I am. I ordered a decent configuration of 5760, but I returnted it to wait for m570ru. And my budget is about 2300 dollars as well. I'm hoping to get a decently equipped 570ru when it comes out in June/July. I wouldn't consider G2S at this point, because M570u and RU perform much better than G2S! I think you should either take the advantage they are having right now for m570, or wait for the RU version.

Asus for some reason never has high-end video cards; the G2S is more of a mid-range machine as Gophn stated.

I'd recommend waiting for the Clevo M570RU.

Is this the same way with the Asus G1S? Because I am also considering getting either the Asus G1S or the Compal IFL-90 if I decide to go with 15" laptop...

As for 15.4" notebooks go, the best GPUs that can be found in them top out at mid-range (128-bit mem interface).

So the new 15.4" with 8600's are as good as it going to get for that size of notebooks.

Go big or go home. If you are gonna carry around that huge 17 " notebook might as well have the best. I like Asus but the G2S will not be able to compete with whatever gfx card will be put in the new Sager and Clevo. Which I imagine will be a 8800 or something of the like.
