Hey I am doing computation(light baking on 3d App.) on my NP5760. It takes somewhere between 3~5 hours and it is agonizing to have the screen turned on the whole time.

Because it is computing, it is not idle.. it does not go to sleep or turn off monitor. Is there a button to actually turn only screen off while keeping the computer computing?

    Thanks.

    yea, just close your lid.

or Power Options to set monitor to turn off when idle for # MINUTES

(OR) Fn+F7 will turn off the monitor as well.. it really is toggling the primary display, but still works

    Thats what I do.

is something wrong with my Clevo? Fn+F7 never did anything for my NP5760.. And I have it set up for turning monitor off in 10 minutes of idle. But because my computer is computing actively, it is not idle. It is using 90~100% CPU.

If my Fn+F7 does not turn off my monitor.. should I get this fixed? Everything works fine though. All the Fn + F* buttons work well.

Does everyone's NP5760 screen turn off when Fn+F7 is pressed? Even when not having an extra monitor plugged in? Damn maybe mine is messed up

    its not messed up.

Just close the lid (make sure to set in Power Options > Advanced tab > set DO NOTHING when you close your lid)
or turn the brightness down to minimum.

Fn+F7 never worked for me, and I'm not really surprised. Yeah I have been using the close screen do nothing option.. I thought everyone used it.. forgot its not actually default option.
