Does the battery stop charging once it reaches full, even though it is still plugged in? When I mouse over the icon, the battery says fully charged (100%), and when its not fully charged it will say charging (xx%).
I'm assuming that this means the computer is no longer charging the battery and wouldn't run my battery life down? Can anyone tell me if this is right?

Yes, li-on batteries are smart. Read the battery guide if you have any more questions.

Don't leave the charger in for more then 24 hours after it's fully-charged.

Overcharging the battery is not a good thing...It's ok though, just don't do it multiple times.

My understanding is that it is alright to keep it plugged in so long as you give it a nice full discharge every week or two...

edited because i'm an idiot and should have read the battery faq first before posting an arguably stupid question.

about leaving it plugged in... it depends because some charger switch into trickle charge mode after they fully charge the battery which is fine for the battery if this is the case you can leave the charger plugged in as long as you want.. it juts depends on the way it charges, im not sure about the one that comes with the 5790 though
