The HDD in my NP 5790 sits a 56C, and goes up to 59 when scanning for errors, is this normal temperature? The laptop is only 4 months old.

More than OK. As long as you stay below 75 , there`s no need to worry.Even my older hpnx9420`s hdd used to hit 85 C somedays, and it is still working, after 2 years :D

I'd say that probably is not good. HDD temps (not PC temps!) have usually been between 40-50C. Rarely more. My hottest temp I've ever recorded is 54C.

Call your reseller and ask them what to do.Since it`s under warranty you cannot open it.Do you sit it on a solid surface, not on a fabric?and do you OC?

Sager will not void your warranty for opening up the system. If you DAMAGE something while opening the system, your warranty will be voided, but just opening up the system will not affect your warranty.

Try elevating the notebook a little bit (I run my notebook on top of a book that elevates it by about 3". Just make sure it's well-balanced and supported in a way that leaves the cooling fans/vents open) and giving the system fan more breathing room. My notebook's operating temperature dropped by 10 degrees Celsius just by doing this.

Yea, that`s what I meant. Nothing is covered if you break parts inside.
I can state that the HDD gets warm, but only when gaming, and that`s about all it gets. My sager 5791 runs with the 7950GTX and the only part that gets warm to say the most is the HDD. I will check my temps and post them soon.

do not worry about that temp.

as long as it does not float past 65C degrees you are fine.

Note: 5400rpm drives have less heat than 7200rpm.

i have two kinds of 120gb 7200rpm notebook drives.

my seagate runs at 40-50C on average.

my hitachi runs at 50-55C on average.

so its somewhat has to do with the type as well.

Both never really passes the ~60C mark on full use and HDD benchmarks.

I tried benchmarking, but the damn Riva Tuner and NHC refuse to work on my system. RMClock also, no deal.
Everest said I`m using xp home edition, so I`ve beheaded it
So what can I use to thoroughly test my temps for CPU, GPU and HDD on my Vista x64 WITHOUT these ridiculous errors?

I got Riva Tuner working on mine. Everest works as well but I didn't really look at the OS. You can also download nvmonitor from the Nvidia site as well. You might need to run the others as admin or set compatibility mode. I was not able to get RMClock to work but it appears that there was an update that prevents it from running. Gophn had a link to it But I haven't tried it. Speedfan works for the CPU and Hd Tune should get you your HD temps.

I used riva tuner for gpu's, core temp for cpu and hd tune for hard drive.

Ok, it seems I have a Fujitsu HDD and temp on idle is 45. I`m gonna check on full load and report back.

Your HD temps are way high, even for a 7200RPM drive. I've heard that anything above 40 or 50 is pretty bad. I know I don't have a Sager, but my Hitachi 100Gb 7200RPM HD has never shot above 47 C, even during a virus scan. Typically, it's in the low to mid 30's on idle.

Then again, this could be perfectly normal for that particular notebook you have. I don't know for sure; I'm never on the Sager/Clevo forums.

Mine seems steady between 45-49 C . I will do some intensive HD activity and see if it goes up.
