video of it coming up gophn, uploading onto megaupload...I want the quality to be as good as possible so I'm uploading to megaupload if that's ok with you.
-
its all good.
thanks.
Which Vista version are you using?
Its definitely 32-bit, right?... since your RivaTuner looks to be working flawlessly. -
Agent CoolBlue Notebook Deity NBR Reviewer
yes it is working perfectly, at first the GPU temp read 0C but I did Jogas fix and it's fine now.
-
does riva tuner not work with 64 bit?
-
Agent CoolBlue Notebook Deity NBR Reviewer
right now...no, sorry.
EDIT:26 minutes until video is done uploading...I hope 100 MB isn't too big to download folks! -
lawlz are you able to put this thing on your lap, while trying to not block the air vents?
-
Agent CoolBlue Notebook Deity NBR Reviewer
if the vents are where the hot air comes out, it's on the back of the laptop where most of the ports and connections are.
if you talking about the fans that suck in air, they are on the bottom top-left corner.
but either way you can put it on your lap without blocking anything.
EDIT:my video that is coming in...16 minutes or so will clear some things up for you hopefully. -
lawlz, thanks for the quick response!! i posted this in another thread, but could you comment on the bluetooth/wireless network card, and also the mic - how is the quality? can you skype/msn with it?

There are 3 pieces at first...one on the screen, one on the back panel, and a small one somewhere that I don't know how to explain lol, sorry.

Nice video as well!
It sure is beautiful...
Thanks.
Damn! Megaupload tells me I just exceeded my download limit after I downloaded your 100MB video... Looks like I need to wait another 251 minutes before I can download again... oh well...
EDIT: got another question: if I use the laptop on my desk with power plugged in most of the time, should I take out the battery or should I keep it inside the laptop? -

no TV tuner or internal bluetooth guys, sorry! -
Great videos Lawls! Interesting to see what it looks like underneath the hood.
I've just been keeping the battery in, but I unplug the AC connector at night when I'm not using it. -
Agent CoolBlue Notebook Deity NBR Reviewer
i'm pretty sure it's ok to keep the battery in.
I recall gophn saying that if you want to keep the AC connector in you should fully charge the battery then unplug it and let it use up about 10-15 percent and you can plug it back in. Let me try to find that link. -
-
Agent CoolBlue Notebook Deity NBR Reviewer
quote directly from gophn:
''Remember these things to have your notebook be healthy for years:
1) Battery: to maintain the longevity of any rechargeable battery
- you must NEVER overcharge it [especially for long durations of time] by keeping it plugged into AC
- when it reaches 100% you should unplug it and let it discharge to 5-15%, then plug it back to power
- OR you can just charge it to 50%+ and remove the battery and store in cool place [remember to use it occasionally to charge and discharge it].
2.) Heat: to prevent a healthy notebook from overheating
- ALWAYS use the notebook on a hard & flat surface
- RECOMMENDED to be used on a notebook cooler... namely the Zalman ZM-NC1000
- check your fans underneath occasionally (at least once a month) for any dust clogs [clean them out with Q-tips and air cans/compressors]
- ALWAYS monitor the temps (CPU, GPU, HDD, etc..) to watch for fluctuations, which would indicate overheating
By doing these simple things, your entire system will easily last for more than 3 years.'' -

how does the inside look on the 5790 gophn? my video was a little blurry, my apologies.
-
Coz that means you need to keep unpluging and pluging in the power cable for every few minutes?
-
using proxy.
I do it all the time

You are going to make a full review right... because you will be the first.
Contact Andrew or Chaz for full details.
I want to link the review of this beast to others that are interested in it. -
Agent CoolBlue Notebook Deity NBR Reviewer
that's a possibility, but it's summer and i'm lazy lol.
-
Great video lawlz, thanks for making/sharing. It's beautiful indeed
Since you are accepting requests: can you make one where you boot the laptop, to give us an idea of boot time, start up and use a few applications, and play some games? To give an idea of performance. -
It sounded a bit soft imo but I guess it's acceptable...
Did you mean only unpluging the power once? So after you let the battery discharge 5-15% you need to plug the power back in, and it will automatically charges to battery to 100%, then don't you need to let it discharge 5-15% again (by unpluging the power)?
-
Agent CoolBlue Notebook Deity NBR Reviewer
I have a blooper one that has the boot time and such...but it's a large file since I messed up a lot and just kept on going on and on...and on...
190 MB to be exact. -
You could use video editing software to cut out the un-necessary sections and also compress it for smaller downloads and uploading on youtube.
-
Agent CoolBlue Notebook Deity NBR Reviewer
the mess-ups are really close to the important imformation, I'll have that up in around 2 hours. I'll make the game videos tommrrow or so...
EDIT: mirror for the webcam is up...

Then with the ones that come up, insert them into your browsers Proxy settings.
(for Firefox):
- Tools > Options > Advanced > Network > Settings
- then choose Manual Proxy Configuration and insert the proxy address that you got and the port number
And then start browsing.
If it works, megaupload should not know that you have reached your limit, since it will think that you are on another computer. -
LOL. Nice vid lawlz.
You gotta love that thermal design with all of the nice copper heatpipes and large fans.
Thanks for the vid. -
thank you so much for this video! i really want to buy the Sager, but still considering the purchase, cause i ll be moving to europe, and if anything goes wrong, i d have to send the laptotp back to USA, so, anyone tell me something positive about the durability of this thingie
-
Agent CoolBlue Notebook Deity NBR Reviewer
ah yes no problem...
here's a super large video...190 mb...but it does give you an idea of the bootup time.
http://www.megaupload.com/?d=RXVY3L57
EDIT: zury, it's a solid laptop...I haven't had it long enough to comment about every single thing but I can tell you that it doesn't feel cheap...at all, very classy and professional. -
gee, ia have to wait 187 minutes before i can download again, oh my
lawlz_xD , is your screen WUXGA+ ? The 1920x1200? -
Agent CoolBlue Notebook Deity NBR Reviewer
yes it is indeed.
-

-
lawlz u got that counterstrike or gaming vid coming soon?
-
Agent CoolBlue Notebook Deity NBR Reviewer
yeah I got it but it's another big file once again...I left the camera at my cousins house so I'll have to have him send it to me then upload it.
-
Hi,
I read about your new notebook lawlz xD, thanks for the review, but I have 1 more (technical) question:
I heard the NP5790 has no HDMI, but is it possible to put out to a TV high definition videos? -
lawlz css plox <3
-
It has DVI out. DVI is essentially HDMI without the audio. A DVI to HDMI cable is all you need to hook it up to an HDMI enabled TV. One caveat, the TV or monitor must have the type of HDMI input that can accept DVI to HDMI cable input. Nearly all do. And It's usually the 2nd HDMI port on the TV or Monitor.
NP5790 picture request?
