I confirmed from xoticpc that sager np5790 is having single lamp.

I am just wondering why this laptop does not have dual lamps. I was just about to order this laptop and then decided to wait till I get real review about the screen from some one after sager ship out this laptop.

I have seen dual map screen they are really bright. Now a days almost all the companies like HP, Sony, Toshiba, Asus provide dual lamp in their laptops. I guess Sager/Clevo do not provide dual lamp option on any of their laptops. This is surprising to me.

Please post your suggestions... Appreciate for the helps.

I do not find it surprising that there is no dual-lamp display in the NP5790.
True to an extent - however usually they only have one model (ex: HP dv9500t (which is replacing the dv9000t), Toshiba Qosmio 17"). Not all of their laptops by a long shot.

I can tell you right now that if the screen in the NP5790 is the same as the one used in the D900C or any of the previous Sager 17" notebooks that it will be awesome. I've personally used several Sager laptops with 17" displays and I was left nothing short of impressed by every one.

Of course the screen is all personal preference. If dual-lamp is that important to you then you would be better off with an HP or one of the other companies you mentioned.

    Thanks..

I was just wondering if single lamp makes any difference on the brightness of the display. I am very pleased with the config of NP5790.
I have used HP 9500T , the screen is very bright and beautiful but this laptop is not so powerful for gaming purpose. I am looking some powerful gaming laptop on good price.

Any idea if single lamp will make any difference on the brightness of NP5790.
