I need to find out what the latest version of system software is (Windows XP) that can be used on my NP5791. When I go to the Sager site and click on the link for the 5791, all the software is dated August 2007. Do you know if any of the software for, say a 5793 or 5796 would work?

most software from the 5793 will be compatible (maybe not webcam) and some from the 5796 will work.

Ok...do you know if the finger print reader is the same on all model? Would the Protector Suite Software ver 5.6.2.370 be out of date? I received that from Upek around November of 2007. When I look at the software for the 5793 and other models, it is not using a 5.6 version....it is something like 1.3.???

yeah the fingerprint software is the same. They list the driver version, not the application version. Look in device manager under biometrics

I'd recommend downloading this version from clevo, it seems to be the most up to date.

Clevos ftp servers seem to have been busy lately, if that link doesn't work, try this alternate one

Theriko...thanks for the link....I had to try several times, but was able to download it....it installed the 5.8 version and it seems to be working fine.
