Hey, I made a thread about this last night, but thought I had fixed the problem when I downloaded the drivers from sagernotebook.com again.. unfortunately, it didn't work, and when I try and start VideoView, i get a message that says "Sorry, you have no D-MAX video capture hardware" as opposed to the video feed from my cam that I used to get.
I can't fathom how this happened.. I might have installed a Logitech suite for my wireless mouse that included some webcam stuff, and then uninstalled it later.. don't see howthat could have caused this though.
Re-installing the drivers don't work, and the camera is mentioned nowhere in my device manager from what I can see. Does not show up on MSN / Skype either.
Can someone help me out?!

Can you post a picture of your Device Manager?
It sounds like the webcam drivers are confused... it should be picking up as a BisonCam (from a 5791, but should be the same) -
where in the device manager should it be?

would it help if i re-installed the chipset drivers? would that have any negative affects?

Truth be told, I don't have a Vista machine, so I can't really help much from here. I'd suggest calling your re-seller and asking for some personal tech support. Where did you get your machine from?

HAHA! GLORY! SUCCESS!
thank you so much for your help. i figured it out by reading some posts on the xoticpc forums about this problem for NP5791's and XP - apparently, the option to turn on and off the camera, Fn + F10, is not marked on the actual keyboard.. but thats what the problem was. must have done it inadvertently. problem solved! -
