    @Justin

    Has Clevo finished the testing that would allow for the "motherboard rework" of the 5791 to allow the 8800M GTX to fit in with sleep mode still functional?

    I know there were three options, one involved the mobo swap, and the one I'm talking about is the mobo rework/revision. Is there any testing info on that because it said that they would only be available after final results from Clevo.

    Sadly there is no "user" cure for the sleep mode issue with the 8800M on the NP5791 motherboard. It is a motherboard issue so without a modified motherboard it is not expected to ever be able to be resolved by a user.

    At this time the re-work is still a option. If this changes, I will be sure to update you all immediately! :D

    but as I understood it, the re-work isn't to be done by the user, right?
    for the re-work, the notebook has to be returned?

    Do you have the actual 8800GTX cards solo, so you can ship those out? (ie: I put an order in a week or two back just for the card, to do a manual upgrade myself.)

    (By chance, can you confirm on the 5790 that Hibernate works okay? You've mentioned so before, but probably over the phone with Sager. I'd like to know if someone has actualyl seen hibernate with the 5790 and 8800 :)

    Yes the 5792 has no Hibernation issue. This issue is only on 5790/91's that only replace the video card without the motherboard fix. We have a 5792 with the 8800 and have confirmed it. We will be posting some more detailed benchmarks shortly :)

    The 8800GTX are not available for direct sale until January 15th 2008.

    I'm asking about the 5790/5791 -- you confirmed in another post (but I think it was Sager, not you guys personally) that the Sleep was broken with the 8800, but hibernate was okay. (Obviously on the 5792 everything is perfect :)

    Can you check the 5790 or 5791 with 8800 for _hibernate_? (I don't use Sleep/S3, only Hibernate/S4)

    Looking forward to mid-Jan :)

    That is correct the 5790/5791 with the 8800 and no motherboard fix only has a S3 problem. No other problems exist at this time. :)

    Justin, i am looking into Ordering one of these 5792's from XoticPC, however i had one question, is there a way to order the notebook with a 17" Glossy 1440x900 display, seems Eurocom offers this component, however i dont see it on XoticPC's site anywhere.

    (Not that I can say really, but from the sounds of it .. a reflash of an SBIOS chip, which involves disassembly the machine to get the mobo out. Possibly the chip needs desoldering/resoldering if its not in a socket, but hopefully they just yank it off, reflash it, put it back, which would be no big deal.

    Sager is doing custom soldering to the board for the re-work option.
