    My pleasure :)

Just in case you didn't know, my name is Donald. The only people who call me Don are those who don't know me at all, salesmen who call here, and those who know my name but chose to use Don to show disrespect. If you will notice, no one else in this forum does so.

listen i am new to this forum and very much a newbie. also i think i am a good guy. I however am going to make a comment that is probably going to get flamed but it is just an observation. Looking at the above post from Paladin this is the second sort of odd post. One other i remember a week or so ago was when he scolded someone for using what he called bad language. now instead of just saying i dont like to be called don he states the above. Frankly I wouldnt spend a nickle with him. Just dont like his demeaner. i just spent 6k on a notebook through xotic and am thrilled. Again just the way he posted the above and the way he attacked to guy last week over nothing just doesnt sit well with me. sorry i am new here and dont mean to start anything but just had to get it off my chest.

As you know, I do not know you at all so I guess I fall into the former, rather than the latter category, my humble apologies to you also Donald -chan.

Coming waaaay baaaaaack to the topic.
I personally can't wait for this chassis to support the quad core Penryn. Finally there will be a notebook alternative to the D901c. Nothing against that system, it definitely has its merits and kicks butt as a desktop replacement. Heck, it isn't even a replacement it's pretty much just a desktop!

I just think the 570RU is a lot more sexy and for lack of a better term portable. I wish they would bring back that second hard drive in the optical bay though. Maybe now that the optical is SATA we will see that again. That was a great option.

Newbie or not there is no reason for anyone to flame you for your opinion...least of all me.

I respect your opinion and your right to have it, just as I would hope that you would respect my right to be called by my proper name, and to have these boards clear of what civil people would consider bad language. Please remember that people of all ages and sensitivities read these boards, and out of respect and consideration for them we should all avoid using language that might offend.

Sooo, now that it is certain that as they are now they can't accept the quad core mobile CPUs...how long does it usualy take for this "revision", with which I suspect you mean NP5797 or something with a new mainboard and not something that can be done on an existing notebook/mainboard.

I will need to buy a notebook probably before the end of this month and not going to order it sooner than the 18th. I was leaning towards the 570TU/5796/Mojave for the ligher weight and the future quad core support, with second the 15.4" model and then third the Toshiba X300-S11 due to it's not as good 9700m GTS. The desktop CPU quad core Clevo unit out cause of its weight.
With the 15.4" ETA of god knows when, the Toshiba is ahead with 10 days to go lol.

Neil@Kobalt, no problem, it's not the end of the world for me. In fact the email, where I asked a couple more questions, was very informative and nice.
In fact, I am very pleasantly surprised by the whole attitude of Clevo notebooks sellers/resellers here in the forum. I was going to buy one for the first time, even if more expensive than I originaly expected, but you can't always get what you want.

Well, I am not saying that you did want it, but what you said could be easily seen as sarcasm towards Neil, perhaps even as trying to patronise him. Which of course if you did with that in mind, it sucks.

My guess though is just bad coincidense and picking the wrong words at the wrong time.

Can't we all be friends, even the remote by internet forum friends?

Me and Neil straightened it out via PM in which I explained my intent and that I was kidding and he said, "I hate Americans!"
    No j/k.
    It's all good.

donald totally respect your desire to be called by your name. I have the same desire. so how about next time it goes something like "hey my friends call me Donald I dont really go by Don" vs the whole respect higher then mighty type attitude. Thats really my only beef. Like i said I also saw it last week when a guy used a word to describe something that i thought was tame etc and again same sort of response. Just irked me a bit i guess. to each their own but the folks on this thread dont work for you, are not your children and probably dont like you talking down to them either which is how i took it. in any event sorry in advance for going off topic and you seem like a very smart guy on these topics. I have enjoyed reading most of your posts as i have learned a lot since stumbling on these boards less then a month ago. I had never even heard of sager or xotic and now i have a $6000 machine on the way and I check in to these boards daily to gather more info and continue to learn. this site is awesome.

Unfortunately last time it was about a month (when the 570RU came out) I think that they added a PCIe slot for turbo memory. That's if my memory serves me correctly.

Sorry for kicking this thread (and for maybe for the newbie question) but what is the fastest CPU for the np5796 at the moment? I have the X9100 in it, but it's not working correctly, I called repair today to ask about the status of my laptop. They promised me a faster CPU then the X9100 in it but they didn't told me wich one.
(Please forgive my bad English, i'm Dutch.)

Very interesting to hear. I've been holding off on the X9100 in hopes for the xtreme quad core. The highest clock on that though is 2.53ghz stock. The only dual core CPU coming out that I know of it the T9800 @ 2.9Ghz, which isn't any better than the X9100 by any means.

I haven't done any performance test because i only had it for about 3 and a half day and after that i had to return it for repair. It's more then 2 weeks further now so i called them yesterday to ask what the problem was and they told me it was the processor that was defect in some way (i do hope that they know what EIST is..)

When i plugged the powerbrick in everything started to stutter (is that a correct english word?) and audio crackles like crazy. (It's not the energy scheme's or vista itself, XP had the same problems and all settings to max performace). I didn't do any 1x or 2x multiplier settings in the BIOS, so it didn't have anything to do with that aswell. The only thing i could do to 'work normal' with it was to unplugg the power adapter.

    It is/was a
WUXGA screen(with 2 stuck pixels) and that is the only choise we have here in the Netherlands, you can look it up at http://www.xxodd.nl/index.php?p=artikel&ID=337&e=2),
    X9100 @ 3.06 (default),
    4GB RAM,
9800m GT (i was the first and last one with the GT choise, after me they removed it, only GTS & GTX now),
    320Gb 7200RPM Harddisk,
2GB intel turbo mem (not sure yet if i wasted some money with the intel, no chance of testing anything...),
    no tv tuner,
no fingerprintreader (build in is NOT a option here, only ugly pci express things),
    no etc, etc
(total cost: 2490 euro at the time of ordering, that is about $3650 U.S. dollars i think)

I thought so, I mailed my supplier and they said the same, x9100 is the fastest CPU atm that fits in the np5796. I wonder what they're putting in mine, but I think it's going to be a long way until I get what I want...
