I am new to the Sager Forum - I am a AW m9750 owner and it just died last night after only 14 months of trouble free service. It's still under warranty and I will get it repaired but I am now somewhat disappointed with my system and am wondering how many more failures I will have in the next few years.

So I am now searching for a well-built reliable notebook comparable to the m9750 that I can trust to last more than a year without failure. I don't think a good notebook should fail in such a short period of time. The Sony Vaio I am using right now has lasted 5 years and is still working.

I have been reading the Sager forum here and have visited the Sager website and I am considering the purchase of one of the two notebooks in the title of this thread, but I have some questions.

    1) 9800M GT or 9800M GTX? What does the extra $350 get me? Is it worth it?
I am not going with SLI.

    2) How much better is the Core2 Duo Extreme than the Centrino 2?

    3) I have read that the new Sagers have excellent cooling systems, but how much noise do the fans make in idle and full speed (gaming)? Is the fan noise objectionable?

    4) How long has the NP9262 been out? Is there anyone on this forum that has owned one for over a year and how is it holding up?

As you can gather from the questions, I am concerned about performance but I am also very concerned about quality and longevity.

I welcome any comments or criticisms of either the NP9262 or NP5796 notebooks along with recommendations on which is a better notebook for someone who does occasional gaming and also runs cpu intensive CAD applications.

    m9750 specs: T7600 CPU, two 7950GTX/SLI, 200GB SATA 7200rpm HDD

    1) 9800m gt, the GTX is not worthy of its price tag...
    2) extreme CPUs have the highest clocks for their cathegory, be it Core 2 Duo or Core 2 Quad.
    3) the 5796 will still be noisier than the 9262, and the 9262 has better cooling.
    4) the 9262 has been out for quite a while, more than a year and there are owners that could tell you that.

If you'te looking into the future, there is no doubt that the 9262 is the best choice..

Thanks eleron-I think you made up my mind for me.

I forgot to ask one more important question when it comes to Sager-how is their support? As you may know, AW does not have exactly the best tech support out there. Is the Sager support team technically knowledgeable?
