What does it take replacing the HDMI port? I haven't opened up my laptop yet to check it out.

I believe mine is starting to go bad. The cord has to be wiggled in order for it to get a connection (tried this on two different HDMI cords).

Generally, if it is a bad HDMI port you actually have to replace the motherboard itself. They are soldered to that mainboard so it's not an easy fix in most cases. Have you contacted your reseller to see if they can check on it with Sager for you?

Yes, I sent a email to XoticPC earlier asking about it. =)

And I was afraid of it needing a complete new board. Nothing can be an easy fix.

I'm not sure how well you can solder but if you can do fine pitch soldering it should be easy to replace a hdmi connector. You can watch videos on youtube and learn how to solder. Pratice on broken circuit board...

You can buy different types of hdmi connector at Electronic Components Distributor | DigiKey Corp. | US Home Page they range from 2-5 dollars.

If not look for a local electronic technician that can do fine pitch soldering and ask much he would do to replace hdmi connector.

I solder tons of stuff that are really tiny I would say HDMI connector would take me about at the most 30 mins but I think I can do it under 15 mins...
