I received my Sager 8130 a few days ago and its been pretty cool, but the speakers pale in comparison to my previous Dell Studio XPS 1640. The sounds do not sound full; it sounds like the bass isn't working. Is there anything I need to do to activate it or is there a way to test it out specifically? Thank you guys.

Try searching for Realtek from your laptop. You should find one ( as attached). Just play around and discover for yourself... :)

Then again its a 15 inch laptop with a 1 inch sub... Your not going to get stellar bass...

I don't have anything Realtek on my laptop, my sound drivers read: High Definition Audio Device and NVIDIA High Definition Audio.

But I do have this basic Sound Setup option, it just says Stereo (2.0, I'm assuming, no 2.1)

That's true, but the Dell Studio XPS 1640 had a similar tiny bass. It's one of the reasons I chose the NP8130 over the NP5160, I thought the sound system would be roughly on par if not better than the Dell.

You should be able to find the Realtek HD Audio Manager in Control Panel. If not, you can always reinstall with the driver disc.

There's no Realtek HD Audio Manager in the driver disc or the Sager website--only thing Realtek is for the wifi, but I have an Intel card.

I checked the Speaker Properties and checked the Enhancements; I checked the Bass Management Settings and it reads:

My 8170 has the RealTek HD Audio Manager.
