Why not have a choice for people who are not affected by this problem? I think it should be there to just in case it turns out the majority of people are fine so newcomers won't get scared off of the clevo brand when they see a thread like this.

Remember people who don't have issues don't tend to check up on forums as much as people who do. So although it seems that the majority here has this issue, it could be the other way around.

(BTW I have a 8150/P150HM and have yet to encounter any freezes)

To my knowledge, none of our customers who have received a Lotus P150HM / Satori P170HM have reported this issue.

I did give the choice for people not affected by the problem, the middle choice says "and does not freeze"

Is there any way of knowing how many of these models have been shipped to customers?

Like mobiousblack said, people who have problems are more likely to come to forums seeking answers. If there is only a small number of affected laptops, as compared to the amount already received by customers, then it could be not as big as it seems.

I don't think you're going to be able to do much about bad reviews or reports of problems in a forum for a consumer review based website. We all know how much everyone here has been seduced by their reseller, but a user-recognized systemic problem that is being largely ignored needs to gain attention.

I know of a total of three regular contributors to this board that have the machines and haven't reported the problem. You are one of them. These threads are mostly being driven by people who don't have the laptop yet because they are already concerned. Between now and late-March/early-April there is plenty of time to gather data and give Clevo/Sager a chance to respond before cancellations start rolling in.

I am so sorry I must have misread it and thought the first was the 8130 and the second was the 8150 with both in regards to it freezing. My bad!

I wonder what I did to make my freezing go away..

it all happened after SP1 and Intel RST,

I remember how when my computer "froze", the HDD access light would be turned on as if it was endlessly accessing my HDD. I guess that's why Intel RST may have been the fix for mine.
