What kind of performance should be expected in Deus Ex: Human Revolution? I had read that people running a gtx 560m could play on max settings but I am not able to get anywhere near max. I can put shadows on soft, enable directx 11, AA on edge, antisotropic filtering on 2x, tesselation disabled, and post processing on and the game is very jittery and unplayable

Curious what kind of settings I should be aiming for.

Edit: Okay this is weird. I installed fraps, and fraps is reporting 30-35 fps at settings slightly higher than i previously posted but the game is just really laggy...it's almost like its gliding around when i move the mouse rather than moving around properly. Like some weird kind of mouse smoothing.

According to Notebookcheck, you should expect the game to be laggy on full settings.

Apparently, mouse lag is a common problem with the game on nVidia cards, with many suggestions on getting around it (turning off vsync, etc) but inconsistent results. I guess the game just really is heavily optimized for AMD... :(

Yea i'm starting to think that. I messed around with the settings and am now getting a steady 40+ fps and still the mouse is laggy as if it were 20 fps or lower....it's really weird...guess i'll just have to lower the settings a bit more....disappointing really.

If it makes you feel any better, I get random jumpiness in different, more Geforce friendly games on my AMD 6990M, such as Dawn of Discovery (ANNO 1404) and The Witcher 2. As in your case, FRAPS shows the framerates as smooth, but the jerking and stuttering is quite noticeable at times. At first I thought I was hallucinating it, but apparently these kinds of optimization issues happen on both sides of the GPU wars...
