    For every thread and post saying the NP8130 and 580m are not compatible, I see one more saying it is.

    For every three threads and posts saying the NP8130 and 580m are not compatible, I see one saying it is if you upgrade the power supply to the 180 watt version.



    Is there anything definitive here?

    I do not recommend you to try it. There is no reason to take the risk of voided your warranty by forcing a mother board to take 180W ac adapter when it is not designed to do so????
