    Hey all,

Thanks for all the great info in these forums, it has led me to decide to join the Sager family in the next day or so! I'm currently trying to decide between the 8130 and the 5165 and there's one last piece of info I haven't been able to find through searching / browsing the forums.

How does the fan volume of the 8130 compare to the 5165?

I'm going back and forth between the two models as I like the lighter weight and better battery life of the 5165 but the better performance (especially of the 560m) of the 8130 really appeals to me as well.

I do most of my gaming on console these days so I don't need my notebook to be a gaming powerhouse. Anyone with a 5165 play Dragon Age 2, or The Witcher 2 on it? If so, how did the 555m handle it?

    Thanks!

    Mike

The fan kicks on slightly more with the 8130 but overall they are both quiet machines. I am sure some owners will pop in here and provide some of their feedback.

Here is some good info you will find interesting. The first one can give you a good comparison of in game FPS between different GPU's. You can compare the 560M and 555M. :)

I'm sure the laptops would get quite loud during heavy loads (I've heard many comparisons to blowdryers...), but what about at idle/light loads? I do like to bring my laptop to quiet places, like classes/library, and it seems fan noise becomes all the more noticeable and important in those places. I'm looking specifically at the 8130.

I have the 8130, and I barely notice the fan while I'm gaming. The music is much louder and you can only really hear the fan unless you put your ear up to the fan. I was playing Just Cause 2 and didn't notice it at all, and even then, it sounded very quiet for a laptop.

Idle is extremely quiet on the NP8130. You can barely hear it.
