I need a new laptop for when school starts up in the fall, and would it be a good idea to go for the NP8130 now, or is it due for an upgrade to the line anytime soon?

I'm not too familar with the NP8130 so I'll let the resellers tell you about it. A bump to this thread will help them notice it easier :D

As far as I know, there really isn't. If you looking for switchable graphic cards or back-lit keyboards it not going to happen for a while, so other than graphic cards, I don't believe so.

Yeah pretty much... Ivy bridge won't be out for at least another 8 months..... I pulled the trigger too.. You should be alright for a while if you do..

What refresh were you looking for? Generally people are referring to CPU/GPU options when they mention a refresh, and in this case, the newest 580m Nvidia card for example, has already been silently added to the lineup. As far as Ivy Bridge goes, that's nearly 8-10 months away, and may require a whole new model depending on how Clevo decides to offer it. Any other features (backlit keyboard, switchable graphics, etc) are essentially all up for speculation- they may or may not happen, and may only happen on certain models.
