I was curious if anybody wound up using a different power adapter than the one provided. I've known people in the past to use other companies adapters that have the same output levels.

Curious if anybody found any suitable substitutes.

I usually don't recommend the off brand adapters as I have seen a lot of machines fry on those in the past. With Sager not being a common consumer brand, it's a bit of a crapshoot as to what will even work with the machines since it isn't usually labelled in their lists of supported models. The adapters from the manufacturer are designed specifically for those units, although you do have the size drawback.

There aren't any that I'm aware of that work for this machine. There was a user that bought a slim third party adapter and had issues with it not being able to output the rated power. A lot of adapters are rated for a peak wattage of say, 180w. However, the P150HM can easily peak higher than that.

The size and weight of these adapters is tied to the power they put out. Smaller and lighter models would have to sacrifice somewhere to do the same thing.
