    NP8150 Fresh install - Is Intel HD Graphics driver install necessary?

    About to receive my NP8150 and I was curious on the driver thread why the Intel HD Graphics 8.15.10.2559 was listed, I know the laptops don't have IGP so should I just ignore it and not bother installing it since it has a 6990M?

    You don't need the Intel driver for the P150HM- I don't even think it would let you install it anyway, as it won't detect the necessary hardware.

    That thread also contains drivers for other models, which is why the Intel driver is there. The W150 is an Optimus machine which means it needs the Intel and Nvidia drivers.

    Ok thank you very much that makes sense, I noticed the hot key application wasn't there (compared to Sager/Clevo driver website). I read that is not necessary the hot keys will work regardless is that true?

    Correct, it's not necessary. It's recommended though because it handles some power settings and gives you the visual indicator. It hasn't been updated that I'm aware of, so the version on the driver disk is the most current.

    Alright thanks again, I put all the drivers in my dropbox folder so I can blaze through the install, we'll see how it goes on Wednesday!
