    Hi,

I was wondering if anyone could help me out. I ordered an NP8150 (from XoticPC) about a month ago. I've had it for around ~3 weeks with no noticeable issues. However today while just surfing the web the laptop shut off and it will no longer turn back on.

When I hit the power button the front lights blink but there are no sounds or any beeps. I've taken the battery out and plugged/unplugged it but nothing changes. I don't believe it was overheating (it was only on for probably half an hour before shutting down -- no gaming involved).

I already submitted a support ticket, but I wonder, how bad is this issue and what could have caused it? The laptop has pretty much sat on my desk the whole time since I received it without being moved and I've been very gentle with it.

    Thanks.

Hello echothree, i'm sorry to hear the computer is having issues. Our service department will be replying to your service ticket soon.

Do you have a monitor you can hook up to the computer via HDMI to see if it works that way. It could be a bad monitor or maybe the the cable got loose. You can also try unseating and reseating the RAM.

There are so many things that could be causing the issue, it might have to be sent in to get checkout.

In the mean time feel free to call our 24/7 phone tech support to get help troubleshooting.

Quick question...front lights blinking but nothing happening sounds like what could happen if your battery was dead and wasn't charging. Do you have lights when it's powered-off to show it has AC power?

    Hi Hutsady,

    Thank you for the response!

I have a tv with an HDMI hookup and I tried to hook up the laptop but it's still the same. The laptop makes no sounds... no beeping, no fans, no hard drive, only the front lights blinking. Maybe when I say "blinking" I should say that when I press the power button the front lights blink. If I let go of the power button they stop (as in they go off and don't stay active). I haven't tried reseating the ram since I don't have access to a small screwdriver right now. I may try and get one tomorrow.

    Hubris,

There are lights on in the front of the laptop (as if it were charging) when I leave it plugged in. When I first got the laptop I did the full charge-discharge cycle that was recommended in the manual with no issues (it charged backup to full just fine). Since then it's been hooked up to the power supply. The power on the battery was full before it shut off suddenly. It acts no different with or without the battery pack in it.

Thanks for your replies. Hope I can figure this out soon. This is a really nice laptop otherwise. Having to use my old one just doesn't feel the same...

One common suggestion is to remove the battery and unplug the computer which you have tried. Also while they are removed push the power button 10 or so times to discharge any left up power. Plug things back in and try to see if you have any response.

With you getting no response from the computer it sounds like we'll have to get it check out.
