Hello guys, Im thinking about acquiring a Sager NP8150 and I have some doubts.
Is this model too big or heavy? Is it portable? Its cooling do the job or it gets too hot? Do the noise get too loud?
Im asking it because it seems the most powerful machine that I could get for the price.
Thanks!

On size/portability, I pack my 8150 and power supply with my Dell work laptop in my backpack (Wenger Ibex) everyday without any problem, and I'm 5'-9"/180lbs. It isnt too big or bulky.
It does a great job on cooling with (2) fans (1 for CPU and 1 for GPU) - much better solution than my old Asus G72 (shared fan for both). Mine runs 90C on Furmark (without IC Diamond) and typically ~70C for Black Ops / Fallout New Vegas. At home, I keep it on a Zalman NC-2000, but at work, it doesn't overheat.
For normal work, the GPU downclocks and the fans never run hard. If you're worried about fan noise in a conference room or class room, DON'T... it's just not that loud.
When you're playing games, it's loud like an 80mm desktop case fan (but not as loud as my old ATI 3870 or Nvidia 8800GTS fans).
I play computer games at my cubicle during lunch, and the fan noise doesnt attract any unwanted attention.
I had an 8.8lb 17"er before, and I prefer the 6.5lb 15.6"er -

I travel constantly with work and I've just received a P150HM.
While it's by no means a small laptop it's still perfectly portable.
Compared to my 14" Dell Latitude E6410 it's slightly bigger and heavier but I don't think you'll have any trouble at all.
One thing to note is the power adapter is definitely a brick, big and heavy. But again, you'll have no trouble and that's the price you pay for such power.
I should also tell you that it's simply a beautiful machine. Excellent build quality and super fast. -

Really lightweight power supplies tend to be so because they cut down on cooling, solid state caps and coils, etc. It may be inconvenient, but a heavy power supply (at least to us old computer guys) has always been a mark of quality. This isn't always the case, but it's a good rule of thumb.
There have been some really good articles about this idea being tested out on desktop power supplies:

Thanks everyone for the answers and links. Ill surely check them now and Its really amazing how the NP8150 looks standard on width and height with all that power (Im watching some videos of it).
The power supply is a real brick too, but itll probably not change my mind. -
I have a Sager Np8150-S1, its very easy to carry around and really thin to hold that much power. Its way more powerful than current average desktop, heck, even a upper level desktop (except for these extreme desktops that cost like 3 thousand dollars...) yet its only 6.5 pound, thin, etc. Some pictures that show the laptop's side is at incorrect aspect ratio, the picture of it looked so thick. I was worried till I got this unit and it was surprisingly thin. Not to mention that I weigh only 125 and am 5'11", I'm a lean fella, laptop is still very easy to carry around.

This is a great thread! I'm looking into the 8150 as well before the fall quarter begins, but it is coming up soon..
And I'm guessing the GTX 460M is much better than the 455 / 555 -

NVIDIA GeForce GT 555M - Notebookcheck.net Tech
The 560m is almost, but not quite, 2x the performance. It's also upgradeable because it uses the MXM slot type graphics, where machines with the 555m are not because the card is soldered on. (Machines with the 555m would include the W150HR) -
im not that big 5'6 143 lbs
its not really heavy and quite portable for a 15" laptop, i have the 8130 btw which weighs bout the same.
