    Hi,

    I recently upgrade my NP8170's graphic card from a Radeon 6900m to a GTX 680m. Installed the official 320.49 driver, had to replace a couple IDs in the driver installer in order for it to get recognized. Now I got 2 external screens hooked up, totaling 3 screens. The internal screen (1080p;60hz), the first external screen (1080p;60hz) and the second external screen (1080p;144hz). It's mostly working fine in extended desktop mode except a couple things;

My computer cant boot from hibernation, though I guess i can live with this even though I use this a lot.

I can't enable NVidia 3D. I bought the whole 3D vision 2 kit for s and giggles but the option isn't showing up in the panel, even when I set the 144hz monitor to 120hz.

I can't enable NVidia Surround (2D). I set all 3 screens to 1080p;60hz yet the surround option still isn't showing up...

And for more info on my system, everything is pretty stock. No BIOS flashes, no vBIOS upgrade. Chipset is Rev.09 and the southbridge is HM67 rev. B3. Bios is version 4.6.4.

Pretty sure these feature were selling points for the 680m, so the problem must lie with the corners I cut to install driver... Anyone know anything that might help me out?

Thanks in advanced, any help is greatly appreciated :)

I thought about playing around with dell's alienware drivers since their drivers seem to specifically support 3D and surround, but I'm not sure what the consequences would be :/

    No thoughts?

I doubt the external screens have correct compatibility with 3D try one screen. I run the 680m with latest modified drivers and its superb though not in 3D. Look for a 3d modded driver to work with 680m.

    Best of luck.

The vbios might simply not support 3d output.

I know the 144hz screen supports 3D, that's a fact, though i haven't tried with only that screen activated... Ill try it when i get home in a half-hour-ish.

And lets say the vbios are at fault, know of any vbios flash to make this work? Could this also be cause for nvidia surround to not work?

No, since any other VBIOS version does not work at all AFAIK.

Not even modded vbios? I was able to find vbios by Prema that enabled 3D for for the 580m, would that work? Or maybe there's an updated version I'm not able to find...

You would need to get your current bios modified, later versions broke compatibility for many models I believe.

I see... Well I don't mind doing that, do you know of a bios and vbios combination might end up working?

That's a question best left up to Prema. You should be able to PM him, as you've hit 5 posts and are now able to send private messages. :)

Your external screen has to be NVIDIA 3DVISON READY, then you may need the 3DTV Play software and connect via HDMI, some monitors also work with DUAL Link DVI.
Also disconnect the other monitors at first. Good Luck! :)

Thanks! I'll see if this works later today!

Also, what about nvidia surround? I thought the only requirement was to have 3 screens with the same refresh rate and resolution...
