Anyone out there with the NP8170 and the 90% color gamut glossy screen from XoticPC (Other retailers info would be appreciated too) option care to run something like Everest and tell me the details from the monitor information. Specifically, the Monitor ID. I would be greatly appreciative.

    My monitor ID is AUO149D.

I ask because it dawned on me that there is really no way to confirm that this panel is the upgraded one because I have never seen the stock screen. I dont think anything is wrong, I just like to make sure for my own comfort :)

HWinfo64 and Device Manager only tell me that my screen is AUO149D. There is no v.? after it. Any other way to tell? I ordered the 90% glossy 17.3" as well and would like to see that myself, just for my own piece of mind.

Actually I did some checking here at the warehouse and AUO must provide screens with a slightly different connotation than normal. AUO149D refers to version 4 (90% glossy), whereas AUO159D refers to version 5 (72% matte).

After some searches it looks like the same screens are popping up in Dell computers as well, and I got a couple hits from the Alienware forum here on NBR too.

This is the one I found regarding the screen numbering: http://forum.notebookreview.com/ali...sc-color-gamut-b-rgled-lcd-6.html#post8010777

Edit: Kind of funny how it circles back to a post made by Malibal here on the Sager forums :p but I've confirmed this with my production crew as well.
