    Hello,

I am looking to purchase a gift for a relative who loves gaming, but will be travelling a lot over the next few years. I have settled on getting the NP8170with the 120Hz Screen upgrade and the GTX 580m to go with it, either from Malibal or Xotic [still deciding between the 2, although Xotic is now offering $50 off for getting 4 SODIMMS (8GB total) instead of 2 DIMS..)

My question - is the 120Hz screen that is offered any good?
Both resellers don't seem to have much information on that particular component, and I know that Nvidia recently released the 2nd generation of 3D Vision. If anyone can provide some insight into this, I would be very appreciative. If the screen is not 2nd generation or is noticeably poorer than the regular stock options, I will very quickly grab the well-priced 6990m :D

Please share your experiences with 3D on the NP8170 :)

**I am very well aware of the disadvantages a mobile GPU faces when it comes to 3D, so please no prophecies of low FPS ;) **

    Cheers,
    SK

Thanks for the link, I'm not sure how I missed that thread.

Can you confirm if the 120Hz screen is compatible with the 3D Vision Lightboost technology? Also, are the 3D Vision glasses 2nd Generation (larger lenses)?

Here is a link to what I'm refering to, in case I was not detailing properly:

The Sagers do not have Lightboost panels (YET?!) but work with the new glasses.
Also some resellers are already selling them with the new glasses...

Many thanks Prema, that is exactly the information I was looking for. :)

Can someone from Xotic/Malibal please confirm if you are including the new 3D Vision glasses with the 120Hz screen upgrade?
