    Hey Guys

After gaming for just 30 minutes , my Np8170's 580m card gets really hot. It was 93C degrees and that to me is just too hot for a graphics card. I think it should max at 88C degrees at most and 93 is probably just not good for the laptop. My problem is I already repasted and cleaned any dust out already and I dont want a laptop cooler. Are their any other options I have that I can buy to cool it down more? Anything more subtle than a laptop cooler? Any tips would be appreciated.

What are your ambient temps? Is your room quite hot?

Not at all...When I got the laptop the card would be around 80C tops after gaming for an hour...The card gradually got hotter over time and I had the laptop for a little over a year.

You could have to redo the thermal paste. If you dont have enough or even too much thermal paste it will cause higher temps.

what are you using to monitor your temps
download nvidia inspector for your gpu and core temp for your cpu as these seem to give the most correct readings ive seen with many bits of monitoring software.
both found in my sig below.

    edit:
how are you cleaning the residue left from the previous paste. this can make a lot of difference if its not done properly.

I use those coffee filters to remove the old paste and put a pea size in the middle and close it...I just got this laptop a year ago with xoticpc.com and paid over 3000.00 for it...At this point i wish I spent my money on a desktop :(
I idle at 45C-50C and when I game I get up to 90C easily...What else can I do? Is their anything I can buy to add inside the laptop to make it cool better ? New thermal pads? Anything?

Can it also be that the card is just overused? I game alot on it..
