I'm building a custom sager laptop with xotic and I got stuck betewen this two major options.

    The NP82XX or the NP86XX.

I made both with the same specs and they are roughtly the same price, wich would be a better option and why?

In my opinion i think the NP86 is a little more good looking and not as bulky(big) as the NP82. On the other side the 82 seems to have 16.96Wh more in the batery (not sure if that means more batery life) and more audio ports.

Do you guys know of any disadvantages from both these laptops? (like bad trackpad, one heats more than the other, etc.)

    Thank you very much!

Well the NP86XX will obviously be more portable since it isn't as bulky. It's CPU and GPU are soldered so you won't be able to upgrade them in the future.

You can upgrade the CPU and GPU in the NP82XX if you want to down the line.

The NP86XX has an excellent cooling system from what I've seen other users post so far, not sure about the NP82XX.

I would personally pick the NP86XX for the portability. Others may say the NP82XX is a better option since it can be upgraded. It really just comes down to personal preference and what suits your needs better.

Is my understanding correct that the NP8258 is slightly bigger than the NP8268 and has a little bit better cooling?

If so, how much better is the cooling solution in the NP8652 than the NP 8258? I have been taking a close look at these two models and while the NP8652 probably has everything that I need, the fact that the NP 8258 can accomodate a i7-4810 or i7-4910 is appealing. Plus, not sure I really need the m.2 over mSATA. The NP8652 can put in the Killer Wireless AC (1525) card though.

I know that people have felt mixed about the 1080p IPS in the NP8652, but is my understanding correct that it's still probably a lot better than the TN panel in the NP 8258?
