So the fans on my NP8235 decide to go from maybe about 10% speed to 100% as soon as my 770m hits 45°C It's always 45°C without fail and the fan never ramps up just goes straight to 100%. No matter what I'm doing on the laptop. I monitored the temps with msi afterburner, hw64 and every other program I can think of, they all read the same temp. I'm sure the gpu isn't overheating, I took the laptop apart, dusted it and replaced the thermal paste with some Arctic Cooling MX-4. Still the same thing, The air coming out of the vents in the back feels cool as well. The only game I play is CS:GO and before I could play for hours straight with the fan just barely being on, now it goes to 100% as soon as the game launches.

I've reinstalled windows several times, trying both windows 7 and 10 with various different driver versions thinking that some weird fan curve got applied somehow and it makes no difference, fans always go to 100% as soon as the gpu reaches 45°C. I flashed prema's bios as well as selected the silent fan option, still exactly the same for the gpu fan. I'm completely lost and have no idea what else to do. The fans are obnoxiously loud when on at 100% all the time. And no I'm not hitting the fn +1 key combo to turn the fans to 100% manually. And this is only my GPU fan the CPU fan is always at a low speed.

Any help is appreciated, Thank you.

Could be the triggering sensor has failed.

Also worth noting, the GPU fan may be triggered by other factors. I'm not sure if the VRAM or VRMs have temps on the NV cards, but they also need to be cooled. Could be if the thermal pads didn't stick back onto them properly that they're getting hot.

As above. Check the components contact with the heatsink.

Do you have Hotkey or Clevo Control Center programs installed? These do allow for a limited custom fan profile where you can set the start and cut off points of the fans. Maybe it is worth a try to see if the issue is in the software.

Even if it's the latest it may be worth reflashing the EC.

I have Clevo control center installed but it has no fan control options, the only download I can find is this http://www.clevo.com/en/e-services/download/ftpOut.asp?Lmodel=P65xSE&ltype=9&submit=+GO+
I flashed https://biosmods.wordpress.com/p151sm/ from prema, so I guess it's that version if it changes the EC as well. I'm not too familiar with that.

In that case, you might want to shoot a quick message his way to ask. The fan profile is controlled by the EC firmware, so it could be that.
