Just an FYI that Sager now has the latest bios & EC for the NP8250/8255.

Please reach out to your reseller or Sager directly to obtain this.

Clevo just provided them the version they need for Sager brand.

    Versions will be:
    BIOS 1.03.01 and EC 1.03.01

The non-Sager/Generic Clevo version has been out since around the 27th and is the same version but again, please get from your seller if you're machine is not Sager branded as they may have made adjustments to it for your system.

This version officially provide 8.1 support though honestly I had no problems running 8.1 on .09 bios neither after restoring default on secure boot element.

    Some notes:

Before doing the bios update please do a "Load defaults" on your bios. After which Intel anti-theft needs to be disabled.

The bios update will require EC to be updated first.
After that machine will need to be unplugged for 10+ seconds (it will power off by itself)

Next boot up and flash bios following instructions provided with bios.
The bios file itself includes ME update, iGPU update, Intel raid update and system firmware.

Due to the number of updates after all is finished please power the machine off, wait 10 seconds, just as you did with EC (though this time AC power can remain on) and power back on. The machine will look to freeze or fail booting initially but don't be alarmed as this is normal so please do not touch until it's finished.

After that is done, reboot and go back into bios and set your settings back how you want (if UEFI on and Secure Boot was previously enabled etc.)

Yes these were released very recently. We are shipping systems out with said versions; so far, there don't appear to be any issues with it. :)

My WEI score dropped for Graphics from 7.6 to 7.2 since I updated with this BIOS for some reason.

Edit: NVM, I downgraded my NVIDIA drivers a few releases back and it's back to 7.6.

Yeah with optimus the wei can vary wildly, it does not relate to actual performance though.

Yeah, it's strange. My FPS was higher with more recent drivers even though the WEI score was lower.

WEI is not accurate with notebooks that have optimus because part of the test run on the iGPU and others dGPU due to the demand of some of the test not being high.

That said, as of Win 8.1 WEI GUI has been removed.

I admit I was one that also liked it, while not perfect it gave somewhat a basic baseline and indication of possible issues.

But how do you load into DOS environment, usually I spam the F12 button on startup but nothing happens after upgrading to WIN 8.1.
I have tried spamming ALL the damn funktion keys F1 -> F12 but zero Bios or DOS ?
    How to Solve !?
I know how to make a BOOT-able USB stick ( using Rufus) and the i just copy BIOS301 and EC301 to the device. But the problem is after the new OS I don't know how to load the device selecter, BIOS menu, DOS- or what ever the name is. Which button should I press at startup to load it?

Go into your bios and select the drive as a one time boot over ride.
