Hi! New here. I just got this laptop, and slightly concerned about the temperatures. I was able to stably undervolt -0.090 on the CPU, but in-game, CPU temperatures still hover around the high 80s to 90s, and sometimes spike to 99. For the GPU, I clocked up 0.065, and it runs around mid 70s to low 80s in game (Destiny 2, max settings at 2048x1152).

Is this normal? I got it with thermal grizzly kryonaut, if that helps.

Also if it's relevant, latest Firestrike puts it at 18,884. Graphics at 22,467, Physics at 21,083. Thanks! :D

Edit: Nvm confirmed with tech support that it's all normal.

The new chips do run hot and combined loads will stress it the most.

Thanks for replying! I suppose the GPU is okay at 80, but for the CPU though, constant 90+ in game? Is it... safe?

What is the PROCHOT temperature in Throttlestop (if you're using that)? The CPU PROCHOT temperature for my Sager NP8961/P960ED is only 87°C so I can't push it past 90°C anyway. Mine is a thin and light laptop which is probably why.
Maybe you can try tuning the Speed Shift value in TS to control the turbo boost frequency?

I used XTU for the undervolt, and Afterburner to check out temperature. This is how it looks in-game [IMG]

It is on the hot side but a good multi-threaded game will suck a lot of juice.
