    I have a backlighting issue with my laptop, wherein the backlight tends either not to turn on or turn off spontaneously. Here's the insides: [IMG]
    What do I do?

    Lol your gonna need to check the power connector for the backlight, I have no idea where it is on that laptop though, see if you can find it elsewhere online or from another owner.

    It's part of the lcd cable;

    [IMG]

    That has some ~30 tiny wires inside the black wrapping, about 3-5 are used for backlight power. Try reseating that cable, with ample luck that may solve it. More likely, it's on the other end of the cable (lcd side) or there's a small break in one the wires, usually near the hinge. With the last scenario you need a new lcd cable (~$25-30).

    Remember to remove battery (and DC) before un-/replugging the cable.
