I have recently had problems with sound being outputted from the laptop speaker of my NP8652 (Clevo P650SG). Sometimes the sound does not come out from when I turn on the laptop and sometimes the sound will cut off during a time that I am running a game. I have uninstalled both the Realtek HD audio driver and Sound Blaster x-fi MB3 software and installed the ones indicated on the Sager website (Audio driver version 6.0.1.7339 and Soundblaster version 1.00.04).
The computer so far seem to have recognized that both audio driver and sound blaster are installed. When playing a video, the sound bar is responding to the audio output from the video and I can hear the sound in two conditions that I have tested, which are through headphone and videocasting by Widi to a TV. The sound card doesn't seem to be broken since the audio is being registered and outputted, and the driver is recognizing its presence. When I plug the headphone in and out of the audio jack, the computer popup indicates that the jack's sensors are working and that the jack is not stuck thinking that its always plugged in.
I have also tried to install the latest Realtek HD audio driver from RealTek website and that does not seem to have alleviated the problem. Today I have formatted and reinstalled windows 8.1 and the only hardware that I had installed myself is a Samsung SSD 830 256GB with samsung magician.
The only thing I can think of is that the wire connecting the speaker to the sound card is broken or the speaker itself is broken.
If you have any idea on how to resolve this issue, I would greatly appreciate it.

When using Widi, the soundcard is not online, so it can be a soundcard problem.
As far as i know, there is no such "jack sensor", the soundcard just analyze the resistance of output, (there are only "sound" wire).
if it's a software problem : basic stuff we all forget : do you have unmuted ? do you have selected the right output with windows ?when you want to play something, can you see the "power-meter" green graph in the windows "sound mixer" ?
have you tried using the default windows driver ?
If it's hardware :
As you can't hear anything with/without jack pluged i would say it's the DAC who is broken( digital/analog converter), the audio chip itself is probably fine ( considering it recognized correctly by windows).
Anyway, if it's hardware ---->Warranty !

I had the same problem. The only answer is to send it back and let them fix it. I did everything from trouble shooting to taking it apart and did not fix it. I sent it back and had it back in less than a week working 100%.

When I uninstall the Realtek driver and let windows install the generic driver, the audio doesn't come back and the soundmixer has the green bar going up and down with the relative volume of the audio. The volume was also not muted and I'm pretty sure its a hardware problem that I will need to send it back to Xotic. Thanks for the info.
