    Hello guys.
From your experience, what settings for Crysis would be the best to set it at on this system for the best possible visuals (No not the best in the game, the best this system can handle) without lag?

    System:
    9800M GTS.
    P9500.
    4GB RAM.
    320 5400RPM HDD.

    Thanks guys.

With the custom Crysis configs, the game should easily play at max resolution with medium/high settings.

or good resolution with high/max settings.

Thanks. But when you say medium/high, which parts should I put on high and which should I put on medium?

    And good resolution as in?
    Thanks.

    max resolution is your native:
    - WUXGA 1920x1200
    - WSXGA+ 1680x1050

    good resolutions:
    - 1440x900
    - 1280x800

There are many many Crysis threads in the gaming section, go there for all of the details.

Remember one thing, Crysis is NOT a well-coded game (poor multi-core support and weak GPU utilization) as compared to others because it does not utilize all of the hardware a system has, which is why no real system can play it a max settings.

Other new PC games (like Unreal Tournament 3, which was released around the same time as Crysis) are much better coded and optimized to fully utilize as many cores your CPU has, as well as tap into all the GPU performance your system has.... which would show when you notice that you can play the game at max resolutions and max quality settings.

So, in other words..... Don't get hung up on Crysis, just play, beat it, and move on to a better game.

    Thanks for your input.
Yeah I may play Warhead more than regular Crysis due to the coding.
Is warhead more or less system spec demanding? Or about the same?

Crysis Warhead, to me, seemed to have improved upon the original coding.

I was able to play at higher settings and still have the same framerate, as compared to the original Crysis.

keep the resolution down, keep shaders, shadows, water, and physics up. check out the hardware performance guide on gamespot, or 'tweakguides', or bit-tech.

Couldn't agree more... HALO and Omicron suffered same fate back in the day. While Quake3 and UT2K3 were kickin booty, HALO was soooo sloooow.

    Thanks, I'll try it.

Halo 2 is a pretty good game though. 1 was alright i guess and 3 was kinda bad.

H1 suffered from poor programing. Way steep hardware requirements for that period. Not unlike Crysis.

Yeah. I think they nailed it with 2, than messed it up a bit with 3. although 3 was better than the first still, it didn't reach 2's level of enjoyment to me.
