I'm trying to figure out if I should go with the Zalman 1000 or 2000 notbeook cooler for my NP8660.

I've read reviews and I realize the 2000 does keep a notebook cooler than the 1000, but I'm curious as to what the notebook looks like on each in terms of overhang and such. The 1000 is cheaper though and seems a bit easier to get ahold of.

Does anybody have any pictures of an NP8660 on a Zalman notebook cooler? either the 1000 or 2000?

I have the M860TU and the NC1000 and it works great!
I will make a review soon with some pictures.
Note that the laptop is bigger than the NC1000; about 1cm on each side.

I am currently using the NC2000, the cooler is about 2 cm bigger than the laptop on each side (width wise). As far as depth, they are just about equal, when i line up the laptop with the front of the cooler, there is a couple cm of play at the back of the cooler. Overal this cooler keeps my laptop about 10 degress celcius cooler while gaming. If you are not gaming, i don't recommend a cooler.

The NC1000 is too short and the notebook overhangs a bit, from measurements. I definitely recommend the NC2000 (and this exact same topic's been posted a bunch of times in this forum - just do a search). It keeps mine about 10-12C cooler as well, and I do recommend using one all the time, since the HDD idles warm in this machine.

Mausimo, where did you buy your NC2000? DirectCanada? I'm planning to get this cooler and for now, DirectCanada have the lowest price: ~$60.

I dont have a NC2000 or NC1000 but i do have a Notepal Infinite by cooler master. I was in the market awhile back to look at all the notebook cooler options it came down to a zalman NC1000 and this a Notepal infinite at the time there was no NC2000 available yet. I saw this review of the Notepal infinite made by one of the posters here @ NBR Notepal infinite review The reason why i chose this cooler was of the ability that i could place this cooler on beds, couches, even on the floor without obstructing the vent of where the air gets drawn in. I would have chose the zalman but it just didnt fit my needs, and im not always at a desk with my laptop.

I recommend the NC2000. It reduced my GPU temps on my m860tu by about 7 C. I haven't used an NC1000.

The NP8660 will be a little too large for the NC1000, I think. I'm using an NC2000, and there's maybe an extra inch or so of space on either side.
