So I've had my Sager NP8660 for a couple weeks now and I do love it. However, I had a couple questions maybe the more experienced can answer.

When the battery life gets low the computer will make this ear piercing beeping noise. Is there any way to turn this down or off? I can't seem to find the setting and I am using Windows Vista 64.

Also, the HDMI output works great, however, I cannot for the life of me figure out how to have the sound come out of the tv instead. Anybody know how to fix this? If I go into the sound control panel there's a new icon that says realtek digital output and if I hit the test button it comes out of my tv speakers. However, upon enabling this option only the sound still comes out of the computer speakers. Any help?

    Thanks,
    Mark

the battery beeping when its low is part of the firmware... you cannot change that.

if the battery falls under 4-5%, it will beep to warn you.

So you can set Vista to shut down the system at 5-6% to prevent the sound from coming on.

I though you could go in the BIOS or there was an option in Windows to turn off Alert sounds? o_O

Yeah, I saw an option in BIOS that said something like "Low battery alert" (enabled by default). Try that.

As for HDMI sound, have you upgraded to the latest Realtek drivers? (9/12's, think there's a link in a recent thread here)

You can disable it. I found that it kicks in at 10%, and was annoying as hell. There's an option in the BIOS to turn that #%(!%#*! off.
