When I turn my laptop ON the screen doesn`t turn on however the laptop it self turns on before screen would turn on with few tries but now it doesn`t turn on completely. My Laptop is out of warranty however I`m looking into getting it fixed if possible. I got the laptop in 2008

Usually that will mean the screen is going or has gone bad. Can you hook up an external monitor to see if it turns on, that would rule out the video card being bad and most likely would be a bad screen.
If you'd like to have it fixed by us go ahead and open an RMA request on the contact page on our site and we'll get it set up.

Could be the inverter if you're getting no picture, but it's a good idea to try Hutsady's recommendation: connect an external monitor and that will help you to determine if it's the screen/inverter or not.

Not much else you can try, pretty safe to assume the video card or has gone bad since there was no picture and now the computer wont turn on. Looks like you got the computer from us originally, if you'd like to open an RMA ticket to get it fixed or ask for pricing you'll find the form under the "Contact" section on our site.

Agreed with Hutsady. Since there is no iGPU on the available CPUs for this laptop, that dGPU is needed for output. You'll need to consider a new video card, or a new system. :(

Your only other option is a reflow on the card, but I shy away from advocating that since most home users don't have a reflow station or even a heat gun, let alone the experience. There's the baking method, but that's not the best way of reflowing the solder joints.

My video card went out on my np8660 a year ago and had to have it replaced. It was tricky finding one that had the same chipset and bought it from someone on the internet.
