For some reason the disc drive doesn't always stay closed after pushing it in. I just tried burning a cd and it took several tries (about 8) to finally keep the thing shut.

When I try closing the disc drive it feels normal (Theres nothing obstructing it from closing) but for some reason it makes a few sounds and shoots back open.

Also, when I squeeze or apply pressure above or below the drive it seems to open.

Any help? Anyone else ever had this problem?

there is an emergency eject hole to the right of the open button. get a very small safety pin or extended paperclipand see if there is any give when you gently push it in. maybe its stuck in so any slight movement will open the drawer.

    Thanks.

Unfortunately I looked at it and there is no problem with the emergency latch. I am beginning to think that its something electric because it only happens when the machine is one and when its about to open it makes some sort of noise that only happens when power is connected to it. When the machine is off I can open and close it without any problems.

Maybe it's a software that is ejecting the drive?
