    Hello.
Well i'm in the U.S, and was wondering if im going to have to pay any tax on the system or if its tax-free from xoticpc? Heard people paying taxes but they were from canada and what not. Do you still have to pay tax in the U.S or is the price when you configure your system the final price? (well + shipping of course)

You only pay taxes if you're located in the same state as the company you're buying from.

Generally true. The more precise statement of the rule is: a company can only be forced to collect sales taxes for sales made into a particular state if that company has a sufficient physical presence in the state that is seeking to impose the obligation to collect sales tax.

For example, Dark Smiley Systems, to my knowledge (which could be lacking :D ) only has personnel, plant, or inventory in Rhode Island, and thus can, as a general proposition, only be forced to collect sales tax by the state of Rhode Island, and then only on sales made in Rhode Island. For XoticPC, the relevant state is Nebraska.

While it may seem pedantic, that is largely the difference between a huge company such as _HP, which has sufficient contacts with every state (as far as I know) so that _HP is required to collect sales tax on every sale it makes, regardless of whether or not the selling corporate division (or subsidiary) is located in the same state as the purchaser, and a small(er) operation such as Sager or, indeed, Dark Smiley Systems, LLC, which generally only have sufficient physical presence in their own home state.

Xotic only charges tax if you`re located in Nebraska.
So you`re safe.(I`m assuming you`re not from Nebraska...)

Wheres PowerNoteBooks home state? may order from them, haven't decided.
Also what about shipping taxes? do any apply? or the $30 some shipping you pay is the final number?

    Nevada, I think.
No shipping taxes.Just the shipping cost itself..
The quota you get on the site is the ammount you have to pay.

Both of them have close to perfect rating, so you can`t go wrong with the pricing and customer support.
I myself bought from Xotic last year and I was a happy customer. :)

yeah i read nothing but good stuff about the both of them.
Question though: Why'd they stop installing the 9800GT instead? Was there a problem with them or they just out of stock? Thanks.

Nvidia just pulled it from their lineup... probably going to revise it... for better performance probably with a die shrink.

I'm in no rush to buy so whatever gets me the best system i can get is what i'll do.

if you wait, you might wait forever since something new will always be on the horizon.

As it stands, the 9800M GTS is the bang for the buck high-end videocard.

Newer videocards are not known yet, but probably wont appear for about another year.

Well, the OCZ Whitebook scores 13-14000k with a dual core CPU...so I dunno.
I`d get that if I needed a laptop now :)
