ok, so i have it down to 2 comps, and need some help deciding which of the two to go with

i am a game art and design student and need a laptop to take to school with me, but it has to be powerful enough to run the programs i will most likely need to run later on in school, such as Maya and 3DS Max, and i somehow widdled it down to one of these two:

either the Sager NP5793 for $1577

    Code:
    		the Sager NP5793

CPU Type	Intel Core 2 Duo T9300 2.5Ghz
Screen 17" WUXGA 1920x1200 Matte LCD
    Memory Size	4GB DDR2
    Hard Disk	320GB 7200RPM
    Optical Drive	Blu-Ray BD-DVD-CD R-RW
Graphics Card	NVIDIA GeForce 9800M GTS 512MB DDR3
Turbo Memory	2GB Intel Turbo Memory 2.0

or the Sager NP8660 for $1667

    Code:
    		the Sager NP8660

CPU Type	Intel Core 2 Duo T9600 2.66Ghz
    Screen 15.4" WSXGA+ 1680x1050 Glossy LCD
    Memory Size	4GB DDR3
    Hard Disk	320GB 7200RPM
Optical Drive	Combo Dual Layer SuperMulti 8x8x4x2.4x +/- DL DVD R/RW - 24x10x24 CD R/RW
Graphics Card	NVIDIA GeForce 9800M GTS 512MB DDR3
Turbo Memory	2GB Intel Turbo Memory 2.0

thanks in advance for any help

sorry for posting this again, but the other post is buried in the 3rd page of another thread and will not get any views...

If you don't mind the 15 vs 17" and the blue ray, go for the 8660. It's more powerful.
If you need any of the screen size or want blue ray, choose the 5793.

Both are pretty powerful machines, and good choices whichever you buy.

not much and probably isn't a big enough difference for you to notice but you will get a slightly longer battery life with the p9600 because it's 35w instead of 45w

Not a big difference in performance, you should decide between portability vs big screen + blu-ray. For me, i love high resolutions and bought the np5793. Both are great machines, you can't go wrong with either of them.
