NP8660 order update?

Has anyone received a change in their order status on the np8660? I ordered mine from xoticpc and have heard nothing. I was told there was a three day build time, so if it really is to ship the 15th shouldn't I have heard something by the night of the 13th? Has anyone heard anything?

 

You will probably hear something by the 18th.

 

Meh. I am very concerned. Even though I keep seeing reassurance from Paladin, each time I call Sager I get the same "We are unsure of shipping dates but everything is on schedule, yes" What does schedule matter if the customers aren't even allowed to know what the dates for that schedule are. If this machine is not going to ship Friday, I've got to know, simply so I can change my mailing address.

 

Even paladin44 has said that the 15th is the day the units leave the sager factory headed to the homes of consumers.

odd that i went to phase 2 then back to phase 1 but that was when i know they didnt have a unit to even look at so im not bothered.

 

Gosh I wish I ordered my m860TU from R&J because they are ready to be shipped. But I guess I will wait my order from Sager/XoticPC since they have a better warranty...

Unless your vendor is Sager, you are calling the wrong people. You need to stay in contact with your vendor for your particular order details.

Sager's official announcement is that they will begin shipping on the 15th. That is still "on schedule".

That does not mean that all orders will be shipped on the 15th because there are several hundred orders to be built and shipped, but they will be shipping in the order they were received.

 

Can I pay a little extra to have mine shipped first?

 

My guess: No.









First come first serve, my friend. Just take comfort in the fact that if the 8660 turns out to be a lemon, you'll have time to cancel.

"The Sager np8660 is expected to be released around the end of this week ETA: 8/15/08. Once this laptop is released and we receive payment the laptop assembly, customization, and testing process takes 3-7 business days. The laptop will then be shipped according to your shipping method "

 

ok 8/15th + 5 days (assembly) + 5 days (shipping) = 8/25th

 

^^ Possibly longer - add in weekends- No assembly or delivery

 

Good thing my company ships with Fedex, who delivers on Saturdays.
Darn the fact I'm not in Miami right now, could have had this laptops in my hands for sure next week.

Hmm from what i read on the site. i can add $12.50 and get a Saturday delivery. or i could just go pick it up at the hold. It all doesn't matter until i see my Phase move from 1.

Oh, Thank you! I forgot about what I saw. I guess my sub-conscience somehow thought it was a joke and didn't register it into my memory bank ... Though still I don't think I would get mine that soon, since I just ordered it with credit card two days ago...

 

There is always build time/test time. Sager must do a 48 hours burn in test period to make sure that your laptop is working as intended. They usually take a day for building than the next two day for testing. So unless Sager started testing these units yesterday or today they are not getting shipped on the 15th. Also keep in mind they must do the 48 hours burn in test for ALL orders, so if yours was placed after others they might not get to yours till Monday since they don't operate weekends.

 

buahahahaha i contacted lynnbay just now and its leaving for shipping today. Since its on overnight ... its coming tomorrow morning. ill post pix asap

 

i'm not saying that there is no build/test time at all, only that it is going to happen before the date they are set to ship

 

Please let me clear this up.

Sager will begin shipping tomorrow, Friday the 15th. They have had them all week as I have reported earlier in other threads.

Pro-Star will not begin shipping before tomorrow, so any Pro-Star orders from Lynnbay will not begin shipping before tomorrow either.

For the 2nd time Chunghwa (there are just too many threads discussing this same thing), I hate to disappoint you, but yours will not be shipping today.

When did you order yours? I ordered mine with credit card this monday, does that means there is going to be a delay for credit card payers?

And I am still in phase 1, hopefully moving to phase 2 soon.

 

No credit card payers will cut in front of check/money order/wire transfer payers because those take a significant amount of time to clear.

I got that email too but I'm still in Phase 1? Stupid screens...

 

My check is waiting to clear. It cleared my bank on Monday morning but as of this afternoon, Xotic pc still shows pending. Oh well, no big rush.

 

I am in a big rush, I leave for college the 28th of August.
