I've been trying to oc my 9800m GT all day; I tried using rivatuner and ntune, but I BSOD when I start ntune and rivatuner isn't reading my default clocks right. I'm new to oc'ing so guess I did something wrong along the way; I wouldn't be surprised if I did and would appreciate all the help/advice I can get.

OC'ing in such a that small notebook environment with the high-end 9800M GT is not recommended... due to the heat.

If you insist on OC'ing, you may need to make sure your Vista UAC is disabled and Driver Signing is disabled.

Make sure to install latest and stable drivers (the Clevo stock ones are best to use to test with at first).

Then run RivaTuner or Nvidia Control Panel w/ Nvidia System Tools (formerly nTune).

RivaTuner will require you "run it as Administrator" (by right-clicking on the shortcut).

The way that most people are using to overclock clevo notebooks is the vbios flash. Software OC'ing doesn't seem to work on them for alot of ppl

What would dangerous temps be? My 9800 idles in the low 40's and the highest I've seen it go is 72 after long hours of crysis on high settings.

I have UAC disabled but where do i turn off driver signing?

I am currently using laptopvideo2go drivers, should I roll back or are those stable enough?

What is vbios flash and how does that work?

The danger temp for the Nvidia GPUs is 90C degrees and up.

So I guess that leaves me with a bit of room to play around with my clocks. And I could probably get even more headroom with a notebook cooler right?

I've also noticed there's no shader clock slider in the Nvidia Control Panel, is it because it is automatically adjusted when you set the core clock? Or is it just because the Nvidia Control Panel won't let users adjust shaders?

keep in mind that temp sensor only monitor the GPU core temp... NOT the video memory temp.

so dont push it too hard because you might see artifacts show up... which means to over did it on the memory speed.

Thanks a lot for replying, do you know what some safe clocks would be?(or someone who would) I'll be experimenting on this but would want to know what other people can get on their setups.
