    ok is it safe to leave my np8660 on over night on silent mode?

    I believe that would depend on what processes you would be continually running throughout the night.

    its ok to leave a notebook overnight once in a while.... but not 24/7.

    notebooks are not meant to be ran all the time.

    My 4 years old Acer Aspire 2026WLMi is on 24/7.
    I'm sure it's safe to leave the M860TU on, just as long as you make sure that the temperatures at which it is stabilized are acceptable.
    My temps are around 30ºC for CPU and 40ºC for GPU and HDD when not doing anything demanding. I think those are quite safe temperatures to leave your compute on for some days.

    My old computer, dell xps gen 2 is on over night for many nights and survived it well. Only thing that comes to mind for the M8660 or m15 for that matter is how hot the power brick gets, I hate to leave on stuff that sits on the floor and get hot :).
