    Is it worth it?

from what i have seen/read, it seems like a waste for anything over 2gb ram.

what is the sager/clevo sub-forum opinion?

    tyia.

I like mine. Even with 4GB RAM I see a difference when I get all my big apps cached. While it was really buggy in the first edition of TM2, the latest version really shines. Especially worth it if you have a 5400rpm drive.

I was planning on going for the 320/7200rpm/16mb cache. the CPU - im trying to justify the T9800.

Thats a good drive. What I used to have. T9800 is the king for the NP8662, but not worth the extra price. I'd recommend the P9600 if your primary is gaming, or the Q9000 if your going to be using lots of multithreaded apps.

im going to primarily use the 8662 for gaming. i cant really justify the q9000 due to its lower clock speed. the only thing i would use the quad for, is to run rosetta.

why do you recommend the P9600 - more L2 cache + lower wattage? is the extra .26 mhz, l2 cache + lower wattage worth $165?

Right. More cache, 260mhz per core faster, and a little more futureproof.

If you just going to be gaming, the turbo memory would not be worth your time.

However, launching large windows based apps like After Effects, Premiere, and others of modelling and sound editing and creation. You'd want to look into it.
