    System Specs:
    Sager NP8662
    Q9000 2.0 GHz
    GTX 260M
    4 GB DDR3
G.SKILL Phoenix Pro Series FM-25S2S-120GBP2 120GB SATA II MLC
OS: Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit

My laptop is plugged in but it thinks it's on battery power. It will say 100% but never drain if connected. My battery will still charge if it's below 100% but it will not say it's plugged in. This prevents me from running Windows Experience Index because it doesn't believe my AC adapter is connected. I've tried uninstalling Microsoft ACPI-Compliant Control Method Battery and scanning for hardware changes but that doesn't work. I've also tried different ways of removing the battery/adapter like people suggest in google, but that also doesn't work. I've also tried resetting the Embedded Controller and nothing. What can I do to fix it?

You tried taking the battery out with it plugged in and powered on? What happened?

The power icon switches to "No battery is detected" and I'm able to run Windows Experience Index.

    Is your score correct?

Meaning, is everything running at full clocks and voltage like it should be?

I think you should do a clean install of windows.

Everything is running fine. I just put the Phoenix Pro drive as my primary with a fresh Windows 7 install 2 days ago.

Did another fresh install of Windows 7 and same thing occurs. AC adapter is plugged in and is able to charge the battery but Windows 7 doesn't think it's connected. Anyone else have any suggestions?

Talking out load here, I wonder if the SMbus communication between the battery and the main board has failed. If that's the case the only thing you could easily do is replace the battery and see if that helps. If it does than it was obviously the battery, if not then most likely it's something on the motherboard.

One thing I forgot to ask is have you installed the Intel inf chipset drivers?

They contain the drivers for SMbus communication that could possibly cause what your seeing.

Also looking at that thread you linked to sounds similar but windows shouldn't really have a problem with this if it has all the right drivers.

Yeah, all drivers listed on Sager's website including chipset were installed multiple times.

    Update: Problem Solved.
I'm not sure why, but I ended up uninstalling my processors and reinstalling them by scanning for hardware and that immediately fixed it.

Thanks for the help. Much appreciated.
