How many hours would the NP8662 last if the GPU is underclocked and CPU undervolted? (Not gaming, just browsing)

If you undervolt the CPU and GPU, you can get over three hours.

Are you saying this from experience or just the generic battery life increase after undervolting?

    Would underclocking it also help?

How does one undervolt their GPU? And also, with your GPU underclocked as well Soviet, do you see any losses while gaming?

Sorry if I forgot to elaborate in detail. I also recently switched my highest level from 620/1550/930 to 640/1600/950 after my latest cooling mod. Below are my latest primary clocks. This set has been vigorously tested for stability and at high temperatures of up to 88*C as well.

    3D application: 640/1600/950 @ 1.05v
    3D desktop: 400/800/300 @ 0.8v
    2D desktop: 300/600/300 @ 0.75v
    Idle: 160/320/80 @ 0.7v

still waiting for more to chime in on this thread: http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=410356
... but in the meantime, when you say "kill" and "bring back" soviet, do you mean the situation and all damage is completely reversible (even by beginners)? also, what are the risks for permanent damage, if any?

On the hardware level, there is no permanent or temporary damage whatsoever from undervolting. By kill, I mean that the BIOS that I edited was unstable, and by bring back, I mean that I flashed the original BIOS back to the card.

Soviet, how do you get your clocks and voltages to change seamlessly when you switch from games to your desktop? I assume some sort of software is used? (I'm guessing you don't do it manually....)
How well does it work? If you just alt-tab out of a game to desktop, will the clocks and voltages instantly change?

^The laptop itself does it. He changes the values with nibitor and flash it.

Interesting... so theres already presets of lower clocks and voltages that the laptop switches to between gaming, idling etc?
You just have to change these presets? And flash the BIOs if you want to change voltages?
