It worked for 3-4 days and now it doesn't

When I check Device Manager, I get the yellow exclamation point and it says windows cannot load the device driver for this hardware....driver may be corrupt or missing (code 39)

    Drive shows up in BIOS.

I've got a support ticket opened with xoticpc...just waiting for a reply. But, in the interim I wanted to see if anyone here had a guess, a driver (googled and not much came up that wasn't in Chinese (Mandarin?).

Also, wanted to know how to take the drive out of the bay. I haven't done that before.

    Thanks in advance.

I made quick google search... It say is for dvd... maybe blu-ray too?

"I was fixing a computer the other day and ran across the following error in Device Manager on the CD-ROM drive.

"Windows cannot load the device driver for this hardware. The driver may be corrupted or missing. (Code 39)"

Because of this error, the drive did not show up in My Computer and the customer was unable to burn CDs or read any CDs.

I uninstalled the drive from Device Manager, rebooted the computer, and the problem remained, so obviously it appeared to be a registry issue that I would have to solve. If you are receiving this Code 39 error and your CD or DVD drive is missing and has a yellow exclamation mark in Device Manager, I hope this information is useful."

    Follow the link... http://www.pchell.com/hardware/cd_drive_error_code_39.shtml

Also that website also show how to fix it..

you da bomb! that was it. I should've googled code 39, but was one track minded.

You know after I read about that...I remembered I had the exact problem on my desktop several months ago...but I completely forgot about it.

I'm convinced this problem occurs when installing some burner software like iTunes on top of other burner software.

    +1 rep
